Hi Fran,
I agree re medication, and only took any after several years trying other solutions without success. Meditation is something I have tried (and have been meaning to write about here), but of a different type to the one you mention (deeper than a Zen monk in under half an hour? Sounds interesting...) and have found it immensely more…

Hi TiredBoy, sorry to hear that you haven't been sleeping well. I've had a bad few nights myself and am struggling to cope with the demands of work and a 3 and 1/2 year old! I don't think that medication is always the answer though, in my experience, having had M.E. for 12 years, it is often lifestyle changes that make the difference.

I've been looking into that book for a while, and I think I will get it. Since I developed ME, almost a decade ago now, I have found it easier to be somewhat creative, although perhaps my worst trait is that I get an idea for a story/book, I start it, and then almost immediately I run out of ideas. It's frustrating, but one day I will have a book more…

Hi Tiredboy, glad you went for a swim. It does help being suspended in the water as you do feel relaxed. I'm sorry to hear that your session didn't go too well yesterday but hope that you are moving in the right general direction towards better health. Best wishes :) more…

Hi tb
I'm just about to post something about ME and sleep on my blog so watch this space!
It sounds as though you are understanding your condition really well, which I believe is the key to recovering to a sufficient level to enable you to do more and cutting the risk or relapsing. It is only through truly knowing where y more…

Hello Tired Boy, glad to see that you are back in the land of Blog. Yes it is so difficult to maintain that fine balance between doing what you want and what you feel able to do and not overdoing it. I am currently sitting here wondering why I am feeling so rough again and thinking that perhaps I have been overdoing it lately and that I need to s more…

Reflexology does help. It helped my M.E. in that it helped to alleviate certain symptoms. Nothing is a complete cure, M.E. means you have to make a lifestyle change and often have to accept that you can no longer charge around at 100mph and be involved in everything that you've ever wanted but you must never give up, you mustfight it every day an more…

Thanks for your comment. Frankly suburbia is my idea of a living hell, so I think I would find it really difficult to thrive there. I do need to find ways to avoid feeling isolated, though, and will try and think of ways to do this. I'll make sure wherever I moved to had a good rail service to London so friends could visit, and when I was feeling w more…
